I love art with a message

Here is a painting I did remind us to pay attention to what is going on around us and make a positive change when necessary.

Water Practice

Well here are a couple of attempts at my water practice. If nothing else it is fun, relaxing and didn’t turn out too bad. One day I will master the more realistic look, just because I want too.

Like Water, It Seeps Through My Fingers

Water. It is needed, desired, and coveted. It has many spiritual meanings through the generations and can elicit every emotion. It is breath taking in every form.

I love paintings and sculptures depicting water of any sort. The only issue is I cannot paint it well. So during my practice times when not working or wearing my other hats, I am studying and practicing painting water. I also am looking at how to include it into my sculptures.

I do not now why it alludes me, but it does. If you have any suggestions, please share.

Create Yourself Instead of Looking For It!

blank-canvasOMG! Have you ever looked at a blank canvas, a blank piece of paper or a blank day for that matter and wonder what the hell to do with it?!?! Or even worse wonder why and who would care either way?!?!

Would it matter if we chose random colors for the painting or a jumble of words that do not make since together on the paper? Do we spend our days doing random insignificant things that have no purpose? What is the meaning of it all?

I discovered recently that my life is a work of art. It is what I create it to be. It can have purpose and make a difference. Just making art occasionally and dragging through daily routines were not cutting it. I wanted to be part of something big. Something that would help people. Art has been scientifically proven to improve many aspects of a person’s health. I want my art to inspire others to live and live on purpose.

I have spent a whole lot of time in deep thoughts, research and meditation. I knew when I started my art and my many web presences that I wanted to share my experience, love and compassion with others who have or are living with their personal challenges and karmic lessons. I began writing and contemplating how I wanted to do it. Many things came up in this process.

I decided that writing and speaking would be part of this project. I decided that art and creativity were a major role as well. I came up with a guideline and a path I want it to take. I took time to get rid of fears and insecurities. I restructured and re-prioritized my schedule to balance the project and my home responsibilities.

I have sculpted me in a new and unique way. I have been absent from you guys for five months. First off I apologize for that and secondly I did this so I could define exactly what I was sharing, how I was going to share it and why I was sharing it. You are important and are worth the effort and focus required to inspire and empower you.

Thank you for your patience and I look forward to our journey together,

Tools of the Trade

Here is a snapshot of my half of the garage. Ha! (The space distribution varies according to the day. Ha!) The pictures show newspaper and it tore in strips, cardboard (thick and thin), ingredients of the paste and clay, sealers, paints, bags and bags of recyclables, and mixers and bowls. There are carving tools, and sketching tools. There are all kinds of cutting tools and adhesives. Drawers of craft supplies. I also have access to welding tools, hand tools and wood working tools. And just like any man or woman cave it is never enough, Ha!

Of course these supplies seep into my kitchen, living room and even the bedroom and bathroom. I have things soaking by the water hose and projects drying and setting everywhere. I mean until I can afford the big, beautiful, ideal studio, this is the only option.

The good news is my hubby is also an artisan and shares in the mess. Ha! He does metal art and we work with wood as well.

Plus I have three children who are artisans. One is a painter, one works with wood working and sculptures, and the other works with metal.  The other kiddos love to help, especially with the big projects. We also have been blessed with a son who is so mechanically inclined. I am presently trying to work with him to learn how to animate some of our props.

So that being said, we all just live, and breath ART!!! Just one of the ways we bond as a family. There are others. This is just one of the family businesses. We all participate in my hubby’s business as well. He is the owner of Fireside Welding. With his business we get to create on a much larger scale. We build metal buildings, fences, lawn furniture, smokers, grills, decorations, etc.

So life here is nothing but creating our future, literally. Ha!

Here is some access to our various projects.
