Create Yourself Instead of Looking For It!

blank-canvasOMG! Have you ever looked at a blank canvas, a blank piece of paper or a blank day for that matter and wonder what the hell to do with it?!?! Or even worse wonder why and who would care either way?!?!

Would it matter if we chose random colors for the painting or a jumble of words that do not make since together on the paper? Do we spend our days doing random insignificant things that have no purpose? What is the meaning of it all?

I discovered recently that my life is a work of art. It is what I create it to be. It can have purpose and make a difference. Just making art occasionally and dragging through daily routines were not cutting it. I wanted to be part of something big. Something that would help people. Art has been scientifically proven to improve many aspects of a person’s health. I want my art to inspire others to live and live on purpose.

I have spent a whole lot of time in deep thoughts, research and meditation. I knew when I started my art and my many web presences that I wanted to share my experience, love and compassion with others who have or are living with their personal challenges and karmic lessons. I began writing and contemplating how I wanted to do it. Many things came up in this process.

I decided that writing and speaking would be part of this project. I decided that art and creativity were a major role as well. I came up with a guideline and a path I want it to take. I took time to get rid of fears and insecurities. I restructured and re-prioritized my schedule to balance the project and my home responsibilities.

I have sculpted me in a new and unique way. I have been absent from you guys for five months. First off I apologize for that and secondly I did this so I could define exactly what I was sharing, how I was going to share it and why I was sharing it. You are important and are worth the effort and focus required to inspire and empower you.

Thank you for your patience and I look forward to our journey together,

Love Kristi V

WP_20160723_13_36_27_Pro As spooky as it sounds, it can be really scary. I have a chronic illness, so there are times when I am down and cannot produce because all of my energy is given to bare minimum tasks. But I am up and running once again with greased gears. So that being said, stay tuned in the next 24 hours for some new pics. I am taking the pictures today and preparing them for the sites. Please forgive the long absence and see you later.

Halloween is an Inspirational Time Indeed….

I have been working on the idea of  some inspirational paintings for Halloween. The first one  is of a clown with a very cheesy grin that is almost fake. He will be full of color and patterns, but nothing real. The message is what is true. “Are you going to go crazy if you don’t do what really makes you happy???” Don’t settle in life. Go after your dreams and live life, not just exist.

The second one is of a scarecrow. He is kind of in a different world. Scarecrows are designed to represent a statue of a person in a field to scare off birds and critters. To say the least it doesn’t work. He is pointing to a framed world with a staircase. This world is your dreams. It represents where ever you want to go. The catch is you have to be present to participate in it. We seem to go through life like robots and not really living on purpose. We go with the flow and follow along. Take control of your life and live, not just exist.

The third is of a clown that is surrounded by many worldly things we think will make us happy inside. Not to say these things are not fun and that we shouldn’t enjoy them, but internal happiness doesn’t depend on them. On the other end, sometimes we don’t do anything to make ourselves happy. We just go day in and day out doing the same old things. Loosen up and have fun. The message of the clown is that he wears a mask of happiness, a fake smile if you will. Perhaps it is time to look inside and measure our internal happiness meter.

The last one is about life and how we spend so much time looking for a type of heaven instead of making our lives heavenly. Then we lay in our death beds with so many regrets. The ghost gives a message of living everyday like it is your last.

Let me know if this inspires you to think about living life and not just existing.

Blog Happy

So today I posted ten posts. Yes 10 posts! I know the general adage is one daily, weekly, etc. And I hope to eventually set myself up on such a routine. But for now I post when my schedule permits. We have two family businesses, eight children, and two grand babies.  So needless to say time is arranged in very creative ways. Today I actually have a good amount of time that I can contribute to my desk work, which is not just blogging.

So make sure you look back over the last ten posts to get all of the new info on my art projects.

Thank you

How I Made the Leaf

0

The leaf was a fascinating project. I wanted to make a dead leaf. So I took wire and taped cardboard to it. I cut out shapes of cardboard that matched each part of the leaf. I then used a wire to position it like it was crumbling in on itself. Then I applied layers of paper mache clay to resemble more of the folds and grooves of the leaf. I had to be careful to make sure every seam and edge were sealed with clay. Then after it set for a week with each layer applied, I painted it with various colors to resemble a dead leaf and shadows from the folds. Then it was sealed and applied to the pumpkin.

I really enjoyed this little addition. Just might repeat it.
